Matthew is…
…actually not a native Charlestonian, though he likes to pretend that he is. He was born in Tennessee and settled back in Charleston after his 5th birthday upon the completion of a short tour around the southeast. After graduating from Clemson University in 2008 with a degree in Computer Engineering, he moved back to Charleston and now helps run e-vos in an attempt to ease a little bit of the pain caused by technology in small businesses. He’s a gigantic trivia nerd, a DIYer, a horrible golfer, a college football addict, and the world’s biggest whiner when it comes to running.
Katie is…
…just a small-town girl living in a not-so-lonely world. She was born in Greenville, SC and resided in Powdersville until attending Clemson. After graduating in 2009 with a degree in Business Management, she took the leap, moved to Charleston, and now works at Heritage Trust FCU as a branch manager. She’s a movie fan, a shopping queen, a reluctant assistant to Matthew’s renovation fiascoes and successes, and a long-time believer in the fact that there’s no better place to be in Charleston than in a boat.
When their powers combine…
…they fool themselves into thinking that buying a giant fixer-upper is a great idea, and that living in it while they renovate is an even better one. Despite life’s refusal to stop giving them lemons, their stubbornness and hard heads mean that walls keep getting built, paint keeps getting rolled, wood keeps getting cut, and plumbing keeps getting installed, leaking, and then fixed. Now that Katie’s figured out that buying Matthew tools as gifts opens doors (sometimes literally) for different renovations, the two of them are determined to turn their house into something unique!
